Without oil and gas exploration and production the World would literally grind to a halt. The dependency on oil & gas products, the everyday materials and resources from oil and gas are evident in all aspects of our daily lives. How are oil and gas deposits located? How are they safely and efficiently extracted for onward processing without detrimental environmental impacts? This course is designed to give an overview and to introduce oil & gas operations to personnel who are both old and new to the industry.
COURSE OUTLINE:-
1. Fundamentals of Oil and Gas
Understand the energy value chain from upstream exploration to downstream sales. A comprehensive overview of the oil and gas industry from upstream exploration and production to downstream refining, sales and marketing.
2. Petroleum Project Economics and Risk Management
Apply economic and risk management evaluation tools for the oil & gas project proposals, identify and quantify key uncertainties during field development and full life cycle economics, calculate the economic and financial viability of expenditure proposals projects under risk conditions, develop a structured approach to measuring, managing and combating commercial risk, assess the ranking of alternative projects, prepare convincing project proposals in a way that will win management, partner and government approval, improve project and business outcomes.
3. Petroleum Geology, Exploration, Drilling, and Production
A step-by-step explanation of petroleum science, exploration, drilling, well completion testing and completion and production.
4. Process Equipment & Piping System
This will deal with all aspects of piping systems
5. Avo & Seismic Attributes / Practical Interpretation of Open hole logs
Key principles and pitfalls related to AVO and seismic attribute analysis including the suitability of seismic data for analysis, preserving amplitudes, properly modeling AVO/AVA and attribute response and matching the predicted response with seismic data, and avoiding pitfalls. These principles control the success or failure of AVO and seismic attributes, and with it the potential success of an exploration program
